Please relate it to the following topics
1. Status,
Bruce has built up the status of himself as being a weak nerd, while the status of the
Hulk is a badass monster hero. He teases the awesomeness of the Hulk to Valkyrie before
he jumps out of the plane as to build up the reveal.
2. Contrast
The contrast of Bruce Banner and the giant wolf already makes for a humorous scene,
but the contrast of the anticipated Hulk reveal with the pathetic fall on to the bridge
is what makes for the joke.
3. Expectation
We expect Bruce to jump out of the plane and transform into the Hulk midair and beat up the giant wolf.
This is a parallel to 2012's Avengers, where Bruce 'reveals' the Hulk to the team by transforming mid-punch and
crushing the giant alien in front of them. Instead, our expectations are subverted by a slapstick gag when he
plops on to the bridge like a pebble.
4. Timing.
The suspense of the scene is built when the conflict of the wolf looms, and Bruce Banner
is faced with the choice of turning into the Hulk. The music swells as the audience thinks
they know where the scene is going. The long shot of the wolf running at the innocent
citizens makes for a anticipating build up and makes the punchline that much funnier.
1. Expectation-we expect him to land as the hulk fully enraged
2. Set up-when Bruce announces that he's gonna show her who he is
3. Status-in a heroic moment leaps in the defense of the Asgardians.
4. Character- Heroic
